The results of the voting poll conducted among the engineers registered in our data bank show that Skanska company is the most interesting employer of the year 2004. The second place took PKN Orlen, and Siemens took the third. Data Bank of Engineers has bee n conducting such surveys for four years. This year the number of engineers that took part in the poll was 10 532.
Skanska most attractiveYear 2004 is the second year for Skanska company to win the first place in our voting poll. 462 persons proclaimed it the most desired employer in 2004, which means that every 23th respondent wants to work there. The interest in the building industry has been steadily high for the last few years.
Engineers want to build- Building industry is the field in which each engineering specialisation is needed: chemists who design modern materials, architects, mechanics, IT specialists and so on. In the era of electronics, computer networks and modern technologies it would be impossible to put up a building complex without a wide array of differently skilled professionals. No other industry comprises so many specialisations. This fact makes it the most compelling- claims Grzegorz Żebrowski, the director in the Data Bank of Enginners.
Motorisation goes upThe second industry that draws attention is the motorisation. In 2004 companies like Toyota, Delphi or Volskwagen ware in the lead, while a few years ago they stood much lower in the poll. The most spectacular jump in the poll did the Valeo company, which was 129th in the 2001, and 14th in 2004.
The big attractionIt is definitely the big companies that are considered the most interesting employers. They offer contact with the newest technologies and attractive employment conditions. Enginners wish to work for companies that introduce innovative solutions and provide the opportunity to obtain interesting experience.
