Requirements:

  • 10+ years of engineering/design experience in typical General Manufacturing or Advanced Technology or Chemical Industry, (incl. ie. Batch Processing, High Purity Materials, Clean Rooms, Sanitization, etc.)
  • 5+ years of engineering/ design experience in the utility system (i.e. water all types including high purity water, steam , high purity gases, cooling water, etc.)
  • experience with startup and commisioning will be an advantage
  • experience in equipment layout definition.
  • very good skills in CAD software (AutoCAD) and MS office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • knowledge of process specific applications like AspenPlus, HYSYS, HTRI, Fathom, Arrow, PipeFlo etc. will be an advantage
  • good English level - written and spoken
  • knowledge of process specific design standards (minimum US/EU)
  • associate degree with concentration in Chemical Engineering
  • experience in equipment design will be an advantage
  • flexibility for travel to other locations will be required as needed
  • ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels
  • display strong communication and interpersonal skills and has the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines

Duties:

  • is knowledgeable of LEAN work practices and applies these principles to project delivery
  • oversee a team of less experienced process designers
  • supervise, train and mentor less experienced process designers
  • independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers
  • perform process plant design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D integrated design systems (PDS2D, SP2D, CADWorx2D/3D)
  • introduce and perform quality review checks for process computed simulation and 2D modeling and process deliverables
  • participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations
  • assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects
  • develops designer effort-hour estimates for process discipline
  • display strong communication and interpersonal skills and has the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines
