The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas. www.edcpolska.pl

Requirements:

  • Master degree in Power, Energy or Environmental Engineering
  • good technical background in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and/or heat transfer
  • experience in fluid flow modeling and/or thermal analysis including FEM tools
  • demonstrated good English communication skills
  • familiarity with CFD grid generation software (e.g. ICEMCFD, Gambit, Centuar, TurboGrid)
  • familiarity with CFX and/or Fluent
  • Desired:
  • experience in MSC Patran and/or HyperMesh
  • familiarity with turbomachinery (e.g. aircraft engines, gas and steam turbines, compressors and expanders) would be beneficial
  • Ph.D. in engineering fields

Duties:

  • CFD analysis using ANSYS CFX
  • 1D analysis of secondary flows in Oil&Gas machines
  • modeling and analyses of heat transfer phenomena in turbines, expanders and compressors (FEM tools and hand calculations)
  • writing reports to document the design analysis process
