The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas.

Requirements:
- MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
- solid knowledge of fundamental/advanced fluid mechanics and heat transfer
- minimum of 2 years practical knowledge and experience of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis.
- Desired:
- skills in using the CFD software ANSYS-CFX or STAR-CD
- good experience in using CFD pre and post processing techniques
- good understanding of flow physics and experience in resolving common CFD numerical issues
- strong theoretical understanding of the engineering principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics
- familiarity with grid generation and meshing techniques including ICEM-CFD
- candidate must be thorough, accurate, with good communication skills and able to work with minimal supervision
Duties:
- perform CFD analyses of the gas turbine enclosure ventilation system, inlet air system and exhaust systems associated with the LM2X, LM6000 and LMS100 Product Lines
- calculate and communicate the flow boundary conditions for review
- effectively communicate the status of CFD runs including solution convergence levels
- provide accurate and detailed reports and presentations of CFD results
- participate in Design Reviews
- apply appropriate Six Sigma and DFSS tools including Design of Experiments
