Requirements:

a third level Qualification in Quantity Surveying or Engineering
3-5 years experience in QS role
a wide understanding of Works contracts
a working knowledge Mech and Elec work packages
strong analytical ability
able to negotiate with clients on a professional level
good with figures
able to coach and willing to learn new processes
good English is a prerequisite

Duties:

reporting to the Company Commercial Manager, the QS, working closely with the Project Teams, will have direct involvement in: the preparation of project construction budgets; variations, resource and equipment planning; the planning and costing of key sub-contractors
the QS will be responsible for ensuring the issuing of contractual notices and the execution of claims for variations and expenses up to the completion of contracts, and will support the Project Manager in negotiations of claims and payments. The project manager is responsible for negotiating all project entitlements. The QS is responsible for ensuring the best Commercial outcome for the company
assist and guide Project Managers in
preparing and gaining agreement with the client on schedules
providing fast accurate, and profitable estimates on variations/changes enquires
preparation and sign off of Project validation
maintaining accurate monthly cost plans for projects
timely and accurate monthly valuations
management of all control documents
management of all sub contractor progress valuations
maintain and update variation logs
negotiations with the client
preparation , issue and agreement of final accounts for individual works packages
ensure regular reporting to the Commercial Manager on the progress relating to the cost plans
